047-19 - Port Orchard Police Guild - Contract Amendment MOU 7MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
AND THE PORT ORCHARD POLICE GUILD
The City of Port Orchard ("City") and the Port Orchard Police Guild representing
Sergeants ("Guild") enter into this Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") regarding an
additional 8 hour personal holiday for employees who prove their fully vaccinated status against
the COVID-19 virus by December 31, 2021.
WHEREAS, the Port Orchard City Council authorized Resolution Number 081-21 at their
meeting on November 23, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 081-21 authorizes up to an additional eight (8) hours of
personal holiday for all employees who prove they are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19
virus by December 31, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Guild and the City desire to over this new one-time additional leave
benefit to members of the Guild;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City and the Guild agree as follows:
l . Eight (8) additional hours of leave will be added to the holiday leave bank (aka Police
Holiday bank) of each Guild member who proves to human resources their fully
vaccinated status against the COVID-19 virus by December 31, 2021, in compliance
with Resolution 081-21 and City policy. Qualifying Guild members will receive eight
(8) hours into their Police Holiday leave bank on or near January I, 2022.
2. This additional leave will be subject to all the terms and conditions otherwise associated
with Police Holiday as provided for in the collective bargaining agreement.
3. This MOU is effective when signed by both parties. No modification to this MOU is
valid unless in writing and signed by the parties.
