JOB DESCRIPTION:
The person holding the position of Engineering/Planning Technician is responsible to
the City Engineer and performs the following functions:
Write and interpret property descriptions.
Compute sewer and water assessments to be levied on properties within the City.
Advise the public regarding water and sewer service availability.
Prepare maps and drawings required for the proper functioning of the Engineering
Department.
Assist in the review of Environmental Impact Statements. Prepare correspondence '
from the City and review all correspondance from the public and agencies.
Assist in the review of Shoreline Permits.
Prepare notification of public hearings as required for various permits and proposed
developments.
Assist in the coordination of all City planning activities including processing rezone
applications, short plats, variances and special use permits.
Prepare fact sheet and statements of staff determination for Council and Commission
use_
Assist in _the research, coordination and preparation of ordinances.
Insure proper application procedures, processing and recording of City issued permits.
These include building permits, plumbing permits, mechanical permits and excavating
permits.
