WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, State of Wlashington
desires and is legally constituted to coordinate and administer a Shoreline
Master (Overall) Planning Program in conjunction w?th the State's Shoreline
Management Program, which is designed to provide the overall preservation of
cor.Tmuiity values and the promotion of the genial health, .safety and welfare
of its citizens; and,
WTIEREAS, the state of Washington, Department of Ecology, Shoreline Management
Division may provide administrative and planing assistance for such a program
and receive financial assistance fron the National Oceanic and At„��ospheric
Administration (N. 0. A. A.) as authorized 'by Section 306 of the Federal
Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVER, that the City Council of the City of Port Orchard
may request the Washington State Department of Ecology Shoreline Management
Division to provide the administrative and plaTmi.ng assistance fords to
perform this proposed program., and,
T111AT the estimated cost of the National Cceanic and Atmospheric Administration
financed segment of this Coastal Zone Management Administrative and Planning
Program is $22,956.00 of the total of $34,434.00, and,
THAT, the City of Port Orchard's contribution towards the program will be
33 1/3% of the total, or $11,478.00, and,
THAT, the Coastal. Zone Management Program "Advisory Coimittee" is hereby
authorized, subject- to City Council approval of tn.e provisions thereof as
called for in the $dope of Services, to execute those provisions in the
event formal application is made for such N.O.A.A./306 funds..
