A IESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, DESIGNATING ALL THOROUGI I -
FARES EXTENDING NORTH AND SOUTH AS AVENUES
AND THOSE EXTENDING EAST AND WEST AS STREETS,
WITH CERTAIN LISTED EXCEPTIONS.
WHEREAS, recognized and accepted practices of street naming -
in Cities dictate a certain system of designating streets and avenues; ;and
WHEREAS; such practices have not been followed in the past
in all cases in the City of Port Orchard; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of such a system would facilitate identi-
fication of thoroughfares more readily; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard
that:
1. All thoroughfares of the City extending north and so-ith (including
northeast and southwest) are hereby designated as "Avenues", and all
thoroughfares extending east and west (including southeast and northwest)
will be designated "Streets" with the following exceptions which will retain
their names as follows:
(a)
Lippert Drive
(b)
-Coles Lane
(c)
Sunset Lane
(d)
Starlet Lane:
(e)
Canyon 1_20
(f)

(h)
Alger Lane
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington,
this 26thday of August, 1968.
