HomeMy WebLinkAbout248 - Resolution - Veterans Home Fire ProtectionR E S 0 L U T I 0 N 111IIEREAS, the State of Washington desires fire protection to be afforded the Idashington Veterans Home, a State Institution, by the Fire Department of the Town of Port Orchard, and E=EAS, because of the fact that the Washington Veterans Home is beyond the corporate limits of the Town of Port Orchard, and by reason thereof is beyond the corporate limit, area afforded fire protection by the Fire Department of the Town of Port Orchard, and WHEREAS, the State of Vuashington is desirous of entering into a contract with the Torun of Port Orchard wherein the Town of Port Orchard, in consideration of the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars payable by the State of Washington, will combat any and all fires at the said Vifashington Veterans Home for the period from April 1, 1948 to i;Tarch 31, 1949, when notified of the same by said Veterans Home; provided the fire equipment of the Town of Port Orchard, at the tirae of any such call, is available; the avail- ability of the said fire department equipment to be within the discretion of the Town Fire Chief, and W!=EAS, The Town of Port Orchard desires to enter into such a contract with the State of l-lashington, CD NOW `1HERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That for and in consider- ation of the sum of One Hundred (?S100.00) Dollars to be paid the Town of Port Orchard by the State of Washington, the Town of Port Orchard will enter into a contract with the State of Washington, affording the Vilashington Veterans Home, a State Institution, fire Drotection as follows: That the Fire Department of the Town of Port Orchard will answer all fire calls fro:. the Washington Veterans Home and will combat all fires at said Institution when called upon so to do during the period from April 1, 1948 to ,larch 31, 1949. Provided, however, that only such fire equipment shall be used in combatting any fires or answering any fire calls at said State Institution as is. available, within the discretion of the Fire Chief of the Town of Port Orchard.
