HomeMy WebLinkAbout130 - Resolution - Extending Water Main Melcher Streetcol 1`1' C-)C) Q k, t_p RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON: SECTION I. That it is the inten- tion of the Town Council of the Town of Port Orhard to extend the f water mains of the Town as follows: By installing a four -inch main, with necessary connections, valves and hy- drants, beginning at a point about 30 feet north of Melcher Street, on I Sidney Street and running south on i Sidney Street to a point opposite the southerly limits of Lot 2, Block 2, Radey's Addition to the Town of Port Orchard. SECTION II. That to pay the cost of said improvement it is proposed to create an assessment district of all lots or parcels of land specifically benefitted lying between a point about 30 feet north of Melcher Street and running south on Sidney Street to a point opposite the south- erly limits of Lot 2, Block 2, Radey's Addition to the Town of Port Orchard abutting upon, ad- jacent, vicinal, or proximate to the said street on which said improve - Iment is to be installed from the mar- ginal lines thereof to the center of the blocks facing or abutting there - Ion, and at least 90 feet therefrom, and to assess the cost and expense of the improvement upon all of said property so benefitted and accord- ing to the special benefits conferred upon such property in proportion to the area and the distance from the marginal lines thereof to the center of the blocks facing or abutting thereon, as provided by the laws of the State of Washington. SECTION III. That it is proposed to make the said assessment pay- able in five installments, the first to become due thirty days after the notice of the Treasurer that he has, received the assessment roll for col- lection, and the other installments on each and every year thereafter, with interest at 7 per cent per annum, and to issue warrants or bonds therefor payable out of the said district. J SECTION IV. That all persons who may desire to object to the said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and pre- sent such objections at the regular' meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Port Orchard at the Town Hall on Monday, May 26th, 1930, at 7:30 p. m. of said day, which date is hereby fixed for the time and place for hearing such objections. SECTION V. That an engineer be employed for the making of the said improvement, and he is here- by directed to submit to the Town Council, at or prior, to the date fixed for the hearing of any objections to the said proposed improvement, a statement showing the proportion- ate amount to be borne by the prop- erty within the proposed district, the value of the real estate, exclus- ive of the improvements, within the district according to the valuation placed on the same for the purpose of taxation, together with a diagram or print showing thereon the said lots, tracts or parcels of land es- pecially benefitted, and the estimated cost and expense to be borne by each of said lots, tracts or parcels of land.
