HomeMy WebLinkAbout158 - Resolution - Improvement to Dwight StreetAMENDED RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN CIUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PORT ORCHARD SECTION I. That it is the intention of the Town Council of the Town of Port Orchard to improve Dwight Street in said Town, on the north and south side thereof, by cutting, filling and grading, and constructing concrete sidewalks each four feet wide and three inches thkk from the Easterly margin of Sidney Street to the, Westerly margin of Seattle Ave- nue, all in accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared therefor and filed with the Clerk of the Town. SECTIIN 2. That to pay the cost of said improvement it is proposed to create an assessment district of all the lots or parcels of land specifically enefitted thereby lying oetween the east side of Sidney Street to the West Side of Seattle Avenue, abutting upon, adjacent, vicinal or proximate to said street to be improved from the mar - I ginal lines thereof to the center of 1,the bloocks facing or abutting thETe- IQn, and at least ninety feet therefrom and to assess the cost and expense .of the, improvement upon all of the said property so benefitted and ac- cording to the special benefits con- ferrEd .upon such property in propor- Von to the area and distance from .marginal lines thereof to the center of the blocks facing or abutting there- on as provided -by th-: laws of . the State of Washington. SECTION 3. That it is proposed to make the assessment for said im- provement to be levied as aroresaid, payable in t'two annual instalments, with interest at 7 per cent per annum, and to issue warrants or bonds there- for payable out of said district, the ,first instalment to be payable within 30 days after notice of the Treasurer he has received the assessment roll for collection, and the secc,nd instal— ment within one year from the date of the said notice. SECTION 4, That ail persons who may desire to object to the said pro- posed improvement are hereby noti- fied to alipear and present such ob- jections at the regular meeting of the Town Council to be held on the 2nd .day of June 1924, at 7:30 p.m. of said day, which is hereby fixed for the time and place of hearing such ob- jections. SECTION 5. That an engineer be employed for the making of said im- ! provement and that he is hereby di- recttd to submit to the Town Coun- cil at or prior to the date fixed for'. the hearing of any ob, ections to the said proposed improvement a state rnent showing the cost ane expense of such improvement, me proportion- ate amount to be borne by the pro- perty within the said proposed assess- ment district, the value of the real estate, exclusive of improvements, within the district according to the valuation placed upon the same for! the purposes of general taxation, to- gether with a diagram or print show- ing thereon said lots, tracts or tracts of land specially benefitted and esti- mated cost and expense to be borne by each of said lots, tracts or parcels of land.
