HomeMy WebLinkAbout222 - Resolution - Improvement of Kitsap StreetI Coll w A (1 RESOLUTION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF 'THE : TOWN OF PORT ORCHARD: Section 1. That it is the inten- tion of the Town Council of Port Orchard to improve Kitsap street in said town by replacing bulkhead and fill in front of lots 7 and 11, block 12, First addition to Sidney, and acquiring the privilege . of mak- ing a fill on private property abut- ting thereon, in accordance with the the plans and specifications to be prepared therefor and filed with the clerk of the town. Sec. 2. That to pay the cost of said improvement it is proposed to create an assessment district of all the lots or parcels of land, specific- ally benefited thereby, lying between the east side of Sidney street and th west side of Seattle avenue abut- ing upon, adjacent, vicinal or proxi- mate to the said street to be im- proved, from he marginal lines thereof 'to the center of the blocks facing or abutting thereon, and at least ninety feet therefrom; and to assess the cost and expense of the improvement upon all of said prop- erty so benefited and according to the special benefits conferred upon such property in proportion to the area and distance from marginal. lines thereof to the center of the blocks facing or abutting hereon as provided by the laws of the State of Washington. Sec. 3. That it is proposed to make the said assessment payable in two installments, the first to become due 20 days after the notice of the treasurer that he has received the assessment roll for collection, and the second assessment within one year from the date of said notice. Sec. 4. That all persons who may desire to object to the said proposed_ improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objection at the adjourned meeting of the council at the town hall of the Town of Port Orchard on the 14th day of August, 1922, at 7:20 p. m., of said day, , which is hereby fixed for the time and place of hearing such ob- jection. Sec. 5. That an engineer be em- ploved for the making of said im- provement and that he is hereby directed to submit to the town council at or prior fo the date fixed for the hearing of any objections to the said proposed improvement a statement showing the proportion- ate amount to be borne by the prop- erty within the said proposed dis- trict, the value of the real estate, exblusive of improvements, within the district according to the valua- tion placed on the same for the pur- pose of taxation, together with a diagram or print showing thereon the said lots, tracts or parcels of land especially benefited, and the estimated cost and expense to be borne by each of said lots, tracts or Parcels of land, Passed by he Town Council of the Town of Port Orchard, Washington, the 24th day of July, 1922.
