HomeMy WebLinkAbout120 - Resolution - Improving Sweany Street9 RF,SOLVTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PORT ORCH- ARD: Section 1. That it is the intention of the Town Council to improve Sweany Street, by grading the said street' from the present grade of Cline Street, to the east margin of Austin Street. in the Town of Port Orchard, Kitsap County, State of Zashington. Sec. 2. That to pay the cost and ex- pense of the said improvement, it is proposed to create an assessment dist- rict of all the lots, tracts or parcels of land specially benefitted thereby be- tween the termini of the said improve-' ment abutting upon, adjacent, vicinal, i or proximate to the street to be im- proved, to a distance back from the marginal lines thereof to the center of the blocks facing or abutting thereon. and to assess the cost and expense of the said improvement upon all the prop- erty so benefitted, in accordance to the special benefits conferred upon such property in proportion to the area and t distance back from the marginal lines lof the said Sweany street, as provided by the laws of the State of Washington. Sec. 3 That it is proposed for the said improvement, that the assessment Icovering the expense to be levied shall { be in 10 annual installments, with in- Iterest at the rate of 7 per cent per an- num and to issue warrants or bonds therefor payable out of the said dist- 111cL. Sec. 4 That all persons who may wish to object to the said improvement fare hereby notified to appear and pre- sent such objections at the regular meeting of the Council of the said Town on the 10th day of March. 1920. at the Town Hall, which are the time and place fixed for the hearing of the ob- jections, if any, to the said improve- ment. Sec. 5. That a civil engineer be em- ployed for making such improvement, and he is hereby directed to submit to the Town Council at or prior to the said elate, a statement showing the propor- tionate cost to be borne by each lot, tract or parcel of land within the said assessment district, the aggregate as- sessed valuation of the real estate ex- clusive of the improvements. according to the last valuation, placed upon the same for general taxation purposes, to-. gether with a print showing thereon the said lots, tracts and parcels of land specially benefitted, and the .estimated- cost to be borne by each of said lots, tracts or parcels of land.
