RESOLUTION NO. 100-22
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, CONFIRMING THE
APPOINTMENT OF A CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR,
AND CITY ENGINEER.
WHEREAS, Port Orchard Municipal Code Chapter 2.08 empowers the City Council to confirm
mayoral appointments to the positions of Code Enforcement Officer, Public Works Director, and City
Engineer, before the appointments can take effect; and
WHEREAS, employees previously appointed and confirmed to the positions of Code
Enforcement Officer, Public Works Director, and City Engineer, have separated from employment
with the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has established the position of code enforcement officer, whose
duties include investigating and taking action to ensure compliance with certain City
regulations, as enumerated in POMC 2.64.030; and
WHEREAS, the City has established the position of Public Works Director, whose
duties include the overall leadership and management of the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, the City has established the position of City Engineer, whose duties include
providing engineering design work and management of the Engineering Division; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has appointed Christine Civiletti as the City's new code
enforcement officer, subject to City Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has appointed Anthony "Tony" Lang as the City's new Public Works
Director, subject to City Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has identified a qualified current employee, Kenneth "Chris"
Hammer whom the Mayor wishes to promote and appoint to the position of City Engineer,
subject to City Council approval; now, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT: It is the intent of the Port Orchard City Council that the recitals set forth above are
hereby adopted and incorporated as findings in support of this Resolution.
THAT: This Resolution supersedes all other Resolutions appointing individuals to any and
all of the positions listed in this Resolution.

THAT: The City Council confirms the Mayor's appointment of Christine Civiletti to the
position of Code Enforcement Officer. Effective immediately, Christine Civiletti is hereby
appointed as the City's code enforcement officer pursuant to POMC 2.08.100 and
2.64.0101 and is designated to perform code enforcement duties as specified in the Port
Orchard Municipal Code and any subsequent amending ordinances and/or regulations
thereto.
THAT: The City Council confirms the Mayor's appointment of Anthony "Tony" Lang to the
position of Public Works Director. Effective, September 28, 2022, Anthony "Tony" Lang is
hereby appointed as the City's public works director pursuant to POMC 2.08.040 and is
designated to perform all duties as specified in the Port Orchard Municipal Code and any
subsequent amending ordinances and/or regulations thereto.
THAT: The City Council confirms the Mayor's appointment of Kenneth "Chris" Hammer to
the position of City Engineer. Effective, October 12, 2022, Kenneth "Chris" Hammer is
hereby appointed as the city engineer pursuant to POMC 2.08.050 and is designated to
perform all duties as specified in the Port Orchard Municipal Code and any subsequent
amending ordinances and/or regulations thereto.
THAT: The Resolution shall take full force and effect upon passage and signatures hereon
unless a specific date is provided elsewhere in this resolution.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested
by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 271" day of September 2022.
