Summary: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning within the City of Port Orchard for the evening of December 20, 2022, including snow accumulations of up to nine
(9) inches and freezing temperatures. In light of these conditions, and pursuant to Port Orchard Municipal Code (POMC) 2.80.210, POMC 2.04.010, and RCW 42.30.070, the Mayor (as the
presiding officer of the City Council Meeting) issued a proclamation of emergency conditions and authorized the December 20, 2022 Council Meeting to occur remotely via the platform
zoom, without a physical location.
Recommendation: The Mayor seeks the Council’s ratification of the Proclamation by motion of the Council.

Motion for consideration: “I move to approve of and ratify the Mayor’s Proclamation of Local Emergency, dated December 20, 2022, pursuant to Port Orchard Municipal Code Sections 2.80.210
