I'm pleased to announce that the City of Port Orchard has successfully negotiated a development agreement with Johnsonlink Orthodontics to protect and preserve this majestic tree. The proposed agreement must be approved by the City Council and includes a redesigned development project and the establishment of a conservation easement, ensuring the tree's long- term survival as part of our community. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Johnsonlink Orthodontics and their development team for their commitment to working with the city and our community to find a solution that addresses your concerns. Your continued involvement in this process is welcome. Parties of record and nearby property owners will soon receive a combined notice of application and notice of public hearing on the proposed agreement. The public hearing is scheduled for October 24, 2023. You are encouraged to share your thoughts through letters of support or by providing public testimony during the hearing. Your dedication to the preservation of our city's natural beauty is inspiring, and I am confident that, together, we can secure the best future for Port Orchard. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our community. Sincerely, Robert Putaansuu, Mayor of Port Orchard
