PR 25-001 - Robbery ArrestQOL'Co CITY OF POAf ORCHARD i January 13, 2025 PORT ORCHARD POLICE DEPARTMENT SERVICE • HONOR • INTEGRrrY PRESS RELEASE ROBBERY ARREST On 01/10/25, officers responded to the 1800 block of Bay St. for an alleged assault and possible kidnapping attempt. The female victim had asked for a ride home from two male subjects. The males agreed, and the victim entered their vehicle. At some point during the ride, the suspect/driver asked the victim if she would purchase alcoholic beverages for them. When the victim refused, the suspect began punching her repeatedly. The suspect eventually stopped in the 1800 block of Bay St, where he pulled the victim from the vehicle and continued assaulting her. The other male passenger attempted to intervene but eventually fled the area on foot. A resident who heard the victim screaming witnessed the suspect standing over the victim, punching her in the face/head. They immediately called 911 to report the incident. The suspect then fled the area in their vehicle. POPD officers continued their investigation, and on 01/11/25, the suspect and a witness were contacted and interviewed regarding the incident. Based on the facts of the case, the suspect was arrested and booked for Robbery in the First Degree. The original allegation of kidnapping had been unfounded.
