015-25 - Port Orchard Police Guild - Contract LOA, Step IncreasesLETTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD AND THE PORT ORCHARD POLICE GUILD The City of Port Orchard ("City") and the Port Orchard Police Guild representing Police Officers and Sergeants ("Guild") enter into this Letter of Agreement ("LOA") regarding the implementation of the new pay scale in the 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement ("CBA") negotiated between the parties. WHEREAS, during negotiations, the police officer wage scale in Appendix A was shortened from 6 steps to 5 steps; and WHEREAS, the intent of the new police officer pay scale was to ensure a 5% increase in the base wage for all police officers; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the CBA, new police officers will move from step to step every 12 months beginning on the date of hire; and WHEREAS, the prior CBA in effect from 2022-2024 provided that police officers moved from Step 1 to Step 2 upon graduation from the academy and then advanced to each step every 12 months thereafter; and WHEREAS, the parties desire to maintain the step increase dates for current police officers hired prior January 1, 2025; NOW, THEREFORE, the City and the Guild agree as follows: 1. Officer Nathan Abbe shall continue to have a step anniversary date of May 29. Officer Alexis Casillas Manzano shall continue to have a step anniversary date of June 27. Officer Austin Hodnett shall continue to have a step anniversary date of January 30. 2. This Letter of Agreement is effective when signed by both parties and applies retroactively to January 1, 2025. No modification to this Letter of Agreement is valid unless in writing and signed by the parties.
