HomeMy WebLinkAbout614 - Ordinance - Payment of Volunteer FiremanSECTION 1: That commencing with the effective date
of this ordinance each regular registered volunteer fireman
on the rolls of Port Orchard Volunteer Fire Department be paid
the sum of $1.00 each for every fire drill by such fireman
attended and the further sum of $1.00 for each hour or fraction
thereof actually expended by such fireman in the fighting of an
actual fire within the limits of the Town of Port Orchard under
the direction of the Fire Chief of the Town of Port Orchard or
a duly designated subordinate of the Fire Chief.
SECTION 2: That it shall be the duty of the Fire
of of the Town of Port Orchard to keep a registry of all of
the volunteer firemen on the rolls of the Fire Deportment of the
Town of Port Orchard and to submit to the Clerk of the Town of
Port Orchard on the first Tuesday of every month, commencing with
the first Tuesday of February, 1954, a list of all of the said
registered firemen with the number of hours each shall have
expended during the preceding month attending drills and the
number of hours each one shall have spent actually fighting fires
within the limits of the Town of Port Orchard under his super-
vision or that of a duly authorized subordinate.
S I(3N 3: That the Fire Chief of the Town of Port
Orchard shall be entitled to the same remuneration as set forth
in the foregoing paragraphs for each volunteer fireman and that
any time certified by him as having been spent by him fighting
fires within limits of the Town of Port Orchard shall be at

SECTION 4: That �heemergency is declared and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage, approval and publication in the official paper of the
Town of Port Orchard, Washington,
