AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EENDIx'DRE OF 4443.97

FOR IN THE BUDGET AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PORT
ORCHARD:
SECTION 1:. That a public emergency exists in that it
was unforseen that the Town of Port Orchard would require a new
police car or. that the cost of civilian defense would be as great-
as subsequently proven at the time of adopting the budget for the
year 1954 by the Council of the Town of Port Orchard, and insuffi-
cient funds were appropriated therefor in. the current expense
fund. That the best interests of the Town. of Port Orchard require
the expenditure of e701.01 for a new police car and $443.97 for
civilian defense, all from the current expense fund, neither of
which expenditure was provided for in the budget for the year 1954.
SECTION 2: That there shall be disbursed from the
current expense fund the sum of $701.01 for payment in the purchase
of a new police car and that there shall further be disbursed from
the said fund the sum of $443.97 for costs of civilian defense and
both of the said disbursements are hereby authorized.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication in
the official paper of the Town of Port Orchard, Washington.
INTRODUCED in regards to the appropriation for civilian j'.
defense on the 8th day of March, 1954, induced in regards to the
purchase of the said pelice car at an adjourned meeting on March 25,
1954 and authorized at a regularly scheduled meeting of April 12, f.
1954, and passed by the unanimous vote of all of the members present
with the approval of the Mayor, on the 28th day of April, 1954.
