AND FCEL FOR POLICE CAR, $200.00 FOR STREET AND TRAFFIC LIGHTING,
$800.00 FOR MISCELLANEOUS CURRENT EXPENSES, ALL FROM THE CURRENT
S ENSE FUND; $";00.00 FOR GENERAL OFFICE ENPENSE, $150.00 FOR
EXCISE TAX, ALL FROM THE WATER FUND; $100.00 FOR SHOP. 'EXPENSE,
$1OO.00 FOR EQUIPMENT REPAIRS, $100.00 PAYMENT TO DEPARTMENT OF
LABOR AND INDUSTRIES, $250.00 FOR GAS AND OIL, ALL FROM THE
STREET FUND; NONE OF WHICH SUMS WERE PROVIDED FOR IN THE BUDGET
AND DECLARING AN AMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PORT
ORCHARD:
SECTION 1: That a public emergency exists in that
through inadvertence at the time of adopting the budget for the
year 1953 by the Council of the Town of Port Orchard, insufficient
funds were allowed for telephone and telegram expense, police
salaries, police department expenses, jail and feeding costs for
prisoners, repairs, maintenance and fuel for police car, street
and traffic lighting and miscellaneous current expenses in the
current expense fund; for general office expense, excise tax in
the water fund; for shop expense, equipment repairs, payment to
Department of Labor and Industries and for gas and oil, in the
street fund. That the best interests of the Town of Port Orchard
require the expenditure of $75.00 for telephone and telegram
expense, $750100 for police salaries, $550.00 for police depart-
ment expenses, $200.00 for jail and feeding costs for prisoners,
$300.00 fo repairs,, maintenance and fuel for police car, $200.00
for streetand traffic lighting and $800.00 for miscellaneous
current expenses, all from the current expense fund; $400.00 for
general office expense and $150.00 for excise tax, all from the
water fund; $100.00 for ship expense, $100.00 for equipment
repairs, $100.00 payment to Department of Labor and Industries,
and $250100 for gas and oil, all from the street fund, none of
said expenditures being provided for in the budget for the year
1953.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DECLARED THAT ANEMERGENCY
EXISTS AND THAT THE FOLLOWING AMOUNTS ARE REQUIRED TO MEET IT:
Section 2: That there shall be disbursed from' ie
current expense fund the sum of $2,825.00; that there shall be
disbursed from the d he sum of $550.00; that there
shall be disbursed frommth s" sum of $550.00, all of which dis-
bursements are hereby authorized.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication
in the official paper of the Town of Port Orchard, Washington.
INTRODUCED on the 14th day of December, 1953 and passed
by the unanimous vote of the members of the council present, with
the approval of the Mayor on the 28th ay of December, 19
