An ORDINANCE levying the Annual general tax for MUITICIPAL purposes, and a special tax for the interest on the bonded indebtedness and a further special tax for the purpose of creating the necessary SINKING FUlTD to extin- guish the principal of said bonded indebtedness of the Town of Port Orchard, for the year 1909. r s I Be it ORDAIMED by the Council of the Tovn of Port Orchard. Section 1. That there be and is hereby levied against all the real and personal property within the corporate limits of the Town of Port Orchard, and not le by lacy exempt from taxation for general purposes, for the year 1909, a tax of ten (10) mills on each dollar of valuation according to the assessed value thereof as returned by the County Assessor ah.d equalized by the County Board of Equalization. Section 2. That there be and is hereby further levied against all the said proper- ty, as set forth in Section 1 hereof, a special tax for the year 1909, of seven (7) mills on each dollar of the assessed. valuation in said Town, as returned by the County Assessor and as equalized by the County Board, of Equalization, which special tax shall be for the purpose of paying the int- erest on the municipal bonds of the said town of Port Orchard, and none of s said tax shall ever be diverted to any other purpose. Section 3. That there be and is hereby levied a further special tax against all the property in said Town as set forth in Section 1 hereof, for the year 1x09, a tax of three (3) mills on each dollar of the assessed valuation oe said property, as set forth in Section 1 hereof, which said special tax stall be for the purpose of creating a sinking fund for the payment of the principal of the municipal bonds of the Town of Port Orchard, when the same all become due, and none of said tax shall ever be diverted to any other purpose; Except, that of investment provided for in said bonds, and under the direction of the Town Council, and then only on such security as the aw directs. Section 4. That it shall be the duty of the Town Clerk, and he is hereby directed immediately after the passage and publication of this ordinance to trans- mit to the County Auditor, under his hand and the seal of said Town, a cert- ified copy of this ordinance, together with a statement showing the amounts of the various levies provided for herein. Section 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and publication. Read first time October 4th. 1909.
