First, I want to sincerely thank the City Council and the Department of Community Development staff for all the time, research, and collaboration that has gone into reviewing and improving the Multi -Family Tax Exemption program. We recognize that programs like this take a lot of careful thought and coordination, and we truly appreciate your commitment to making Port Orchard a place where housing opportunities can grow for everyone. The MFTE program has proven to be one of the most effective tools cities have to encourage new housing construction, particularly in areas where the cost of development has made projects increasingly difficult to pencil out. Reinstating this program sends a clear message that Port Orchard is open to smart growth, investment, and providing attainable housing for the local workforce. The Kitsap Building Association fully supports the reinstatement of the MFTE program and stands ready to assist the city in any way we can to make it a continued success. Thank you again for your leadership and for working proactively to address our community's housing needs.
