Point of Contact Susan Stadshaug Title Show Chair Signature Phone 3606205864 Email machl @silverlink.net From: Kitsap Mustang Club To: 2026 Lodging Tax Committee Subj: 2026 Lodging Tax Application a) Marketing Plan i. Our marketing plan includes reaching out and advertising Mustangs on the Waterfront, a car show exclusively for Ford Mustangs, to all Mustang Clubs in the Pacific Northwest, across Washington State including neighboring states (Idaho and Oregon) extending into NW Canada. The car show is advertised with Mustang Club of America in their Mustang Times magazine that members who are Mustang owners and enthusiasts across the nation receive. A wide variety of methods are used, i.e. email, posters, post cards, flyers, and various social media platforms. South Sound Publishing is used for local area papers and their online customers to generate community interest to not only encourage Mustang owners to enter their cars in the show, but increase awareness about the car show and encourage spectators to attend and visit Port Orchard. ii. To encourage participants to visit Port Orchard not only on show day, Port Orchard Ford as one of our premier sponsors host a free Show and Shine and BBQ on Saturday, the day before Sunday's car show. This event is included in all advertisements for the show extending the invite to all prospective car show participants. This encourages guests to visit Port Orchard for an overnight stay or for the weekend. Local lodging contact information is included in and on all ads and flyers. Local hotels have reported an increase in their capacity from Friday through Sunday on our car show weekend. A very unique aspect of our show is taking pictures of each participant's Mustang entered using the picturesque Port Orchard waterfront as the backdrop. Each participant goes home with a picture in a folder that also includes a calendar to enjoy throughout the year. Trophy recipients receive the same picture framed on the trophy they also take home. iii. About 60% of the lodging tax received in 2025 was used for marketing. 50-70% of the requested amount this year is budgeted for marketing (50% advertising, 25% for printed materials). This includes paper, printer cartridges, calendar folders, photo developing, flyers, and programs. The overall budget range is 20-30%. The plan is to continue advertising the car show with South Sound Publishing and enter a thank you ad to all those who contribute to the show ($1500-$2000). All printing and distribution of show related material before, during, and after the show ($500). Each year, the show's artwork is placed on all printed and posted material and always includes Port Orchard WA. The same artwork is also used on our show shirts. b) Financial Status I. Yes, sponsorship applications and requests will go to Canopy World, Port Orchard Ford, and West Hills Ford, all long-time sponsors of the show. Their generosity supports over 50% of trophy and dash plaque expenses which are the largest expense for the show. To further mitigate trophy expenses, trophy class sponsorships are also offered. Businesses, other car dealerships, sister Mustang Clubs are invited to reap advertising benefits having their name on each trophy class or classes they choose from a list to sponsor. Private parties have used this as an opportunity to memorialize loved ones, i.e., club b) Financial Status (cont'd) members, family and friends. Trophy Class Sponsorships has been well received and participation increased to those who may not afford a larger donation. Through sponsorships, our raffle donations have also increased and the 50/50 drawing gives the club the ability to donate the other 50% to a charity. ii. The club has discussed our show with the Saints Car Club and Cruisin Sunday, held at Christian Life Center, about their shows. Each of our shows are unique to the footprint and location and further collaboration is necessary to see if any processes used and/or ideas they have can be adapted to ours to increase tourism. Our club is very open and interested to seek ways to increase and improve marketing efforts and tourism. We will continue to work with Bay Street businesses along the downtown corridor adjacent to our show site which are the ones most affected on show day and provide the best support possible. On show day, participants have an opportunity to participate in a poker walk preplanned with businesses to encourage visits to stores along Bay Street and potential shoppers. We will continue to advertise the show around Kitsap County and in Port Orchard with a goal to bring show participants, guests and visitors to support local businesses over the show weekend. iii. Presently, the club mainly does sole marketing though very interested to know and learn of other opportunities for collaboration to gain insight on ways to boost attendance, increase marketing and improve tourism. We welcome all suggestions and recommendations to further this effort. We will be meeting with several of our sister Mustang Clubs to network about our shows and will include this in our discussions. iv. Kitsap Mustang Club was established in 1988 and has done well to live within their financial means. Since 1992 Mustangs on the waterfront has been held on the Port Orchard waterfront and must add, is a favorite location to all who attend. As a non-profit organization, the club strives to support many local causes and charities donating to South Kitsap Food Line, North Kitsap Fishline, Bremerton Food Line and the Bremerton Police and the Kitsap County Sheriff to support their K-9 programs. LTAC funds have given the club the opportunity to promote the City of Port Orchard more extensively in order to promote tourism to the city and also enhance the experience for all who attend Musangs on the Waterfront from car show participants, spectators and visitors. The club is excited to announce our newly established scholarship actively working with local schools from bridge to bridge (Tacoma to Hook Canal) to provide each school with scholarship applications for 2026 graduates to apply for those entering a wide variety of studies within the automotive industry. The club recently invested in a new Canon colored printer to replace one cost prohibitive to repair. Owning both a color printer and copy machine has reduced the need to and cost of using outside printing services. v. Yes, our event is possible if only with part of the requested funding is received. The amount awarded could affect the overall LTAC budget. c) Reporting Requirements it is estimated our event will bring about 1200 visitors to Port Orchard (visitors, show participants, and spectators). c) Reporting Requirements (cont'd) ii. It is estimated 30 to 40 guests could stay overnight over the show weekend (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday). iii. An average number of show participants travelling 50 miles+ is about 165. From outside Washington, Idaho 2, Oregon 6, and out of country 4 (Canada), iv. Revenue expected approximately $1000-$2000. v. Various methodology methods are used to collect/estimate data. A direct count method is used for those staying overnight reported by local hotels and an informal survey for participants staying with friends and/or family. Direct count for participants travelling 50 miles+ and out-of-state or country from registration information collected from participants. An indirect count is used for overall attendance. Thank you for your consideration in extending lodging tax funds to Kitsap Mustang Club for our car show, Mustangs on the Waterfront.
