A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, ACCEPTING
THE BID FOR TWO (2) 2016 (4WD) RAM 1500 TRADESMAN PICKUP TRUCKS
(ONE REGULAR CAB AND ONE EXTENDED CAB) FOR THE 2016 PUBLIC WORKS
SHOP VEHICLE REPLACEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Public Works Department budgeted for the
purchase of two (2) Shop replacement vehicles within the Approved 2016 Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Public Works Department developed vehicle
specifications based upon Departmental needs and determined that two (2) 2016 (4WD) % Ton
Pickup Trucks (one regular and one extended Cab) were best suited specific use; and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2016 the City of Port Orchard Public Works Department
issued a request for quotes for the purchase of two (2) Public Works Shop replacement vehicles
from three (3) local auto vendors and the Washington State Bid List; and
WHEREAS, by the February 9, 2016 deadline, the City received two (2) quotes from local
vendors and three (3) quotes from the State Bid List; and
WHEREAS, upon review, Public Works staff determined that the West Hills Chrysler Jeep
Dodge quote for two (2) 2016 (4WD) Ram 1500 Tradesman Pickup Trucks (one regular and one
extended cab 1) met the required specifications, 2) did not introduce Ford products into the
current Fleet, 3) met the required delivery window and 4) was only $237.64 higher than the
State Bid for a comparable Dodge which did not meet the required delivery window; and
WHEREAS, the City Public Works Department finds the bid amount to be within the
funding allocated in the 2016 City of Port Orchard Public Works Department operating budget;
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City of Port Orchard accepts the two (2) 2016 (4WD) Ram 1500
Tradesman Pickup Trucks (one regular and one extended cab) vehicle bids
submitted by West Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Bremerton, in an amount not
to exceed $61,626.00, including all Washington State sales tax, (plus any
licensing and recording fees) with funds from the Public Works Department's
2016 Operating Budget.

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested
by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 23th day of February 2016.
