RESOLUTION NO. 016-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH PUGET SOUND ENERGY FOR
ELECTRICAL DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE 5R166/BAY STREET RECONSTRUCTION
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard identified the need for the SR166/Bay Street
Reconstruction Project to improve roadway infrastructure from south of Geiger Street to north
of Frederick Avenue (the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, the City applied for and received a grant through the Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) administered by the Washington State Department of Transportation
(WSDOT) to fund the Project, which includes a 13.5% local match; and
WHEREAS, the Project requires electrical design services coordinated with Puget
Sound Energy (PSE), the electrical service provider for the region, to ensure proper design and
integration of electrical facilities for street lighting, signalization, and related infrastructure;
and
WHEREAS, PSE has provided the City with a proposal for electrical design services in an
amount not to exceed $30,000, which includes a contingency allowance for unforeseen design
adjustments; and
WHEREAS, approval of this contract will further the work necessary to advance the
5R166/Bay Street Reconstruction Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interests of the City and its residents to
approve the contract with PSE; Now, Therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: It is the intent of the Port Orchard City Council that the recitals set forth above
are hereby adopted and incorporated as findings in support of this Resolution.
THAT: The City Council approves and authorizes the Mayor to execute a contract with
Puget Sound Energy for electrical design services related to the SR166/Bay Street
Reconstruction Project in an amount not to exceed $30,000, and to take all actions
necessary to effectuate this approval.
THAT: The Resolution shall take full force and effect upon passage and signatures
hereon.
