Festival of Chimes and Lights
Committee Minutes
Monday, November 20, 2017; 3:30 p.m. at City Hall
Members present: Chair Lucarelli, Councilmember Donlin, City staff Bill Thiele and Jenine Floyd. Guests present:
Sharron King, Fathoms O’ Fun Festival, Inc; Kathleen Wilson, POBSA; Terry Bontrager, Saints Car Club.
Lights and Decorations
The committee discussed the lights, decorations, and tree that are now on display. City staff Thiele noted he will be
purchasing more lights. Chair Lucarelli noted some of the garland needs to be replaced and after the event, we will
look into what we can purchase.
Sound System
City staff Floyd noted we are moving forward with using Gordon Sound for the sound system.
Meeting Obligations of Grant Received by Kitsap Bank
The committee discussed the obligations requested by Kitsap Bank for submitting photos and short summaries of
the event. Chair Lucarelli noted we can ask one of the choirs, the Dance Gallery, and the library.
Brochure & Poster Distribution
In response to Councilmember Lucarelli, City staff Floyd noted there are several boxes of brochures that have been
delivered. The committee discussed distribution of those brochures and posters.
Additionally, Chair Lucarelli noted there was a problem with the insert and it was printed upside down. The Port
Orchard Independent is going to be giving us a discount.
Misc. Updates
The committee discussed the volunteer organizations; chair for Santa; pickup of firepits and wood; pickup and
distribution of haybales; availability of City Hall for the Fathoms Court; tent setup; availability of the public works
crew; and arrival of the firetruck.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 3:57 p.m. Audio-only recording was
successful.
