Festival of Chimes and Lights
Committee Minutes
Monday, December 18, 2017; 3:30 p.m. at City Hall
Members present: Chair Lucarelli, Councilmember Donlin, and City staff Jenine Floyd. Guests present: Kathleen
Wilson, POBSA.
Lights and Decorations
The committee reviewed and discussed new garland they would like hung above Bay Street to replace the current
ones. Chair Lucarelli would also like to look at prices of 2 enhanced ‘gateway’ garlands and asked staff Floyd to
contact a couple vendors and ask for quotes. The committee noted that height and weight will need to be a factor.
Chair Lucarelli asked staff Floyd to add garland discussion to the January work study meeting.
Review of 2017 Event
Ms. Wilson said the library was very busy during the event with an estimated 1,800 in attendance.
The committee briefly discussed the event which included the pet parade, choirs, tents, the free movie, and
attendance. Chair Lucarelli noted this will be discussed further at the next Chimes and Lights committee meeting.
Meeting Obligations of Grant Received by Kitsap Bank
Chair Lucarelli noted we will follow up with the library, dance studio, and choirs, about providing testimonials for
the event to help meet Kitsap Bank’s obligations.
Misc. Updates
Chair Lucarelli would like to schedule a ‘Thank You’ presentation during the January 23rd Council meeting to the
people who contributed to the event.
2018 Chimes and Lights event: The committee briefly mentioned 2018 is the 20th anniversary of Chimes and
Lights and discussed potential activities for the event.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:16 p.m. Audio-only recording was
successful.
