Members present via remote access: Chair Lucarelli and City staff Floyd. Guests present via remote access:
Sharron King, Fathoms O’ Fun; Christine Stansbery, Sidney Museum and Arts Association and Port Orchard Bay
Street Association (POBSA); and Loretta Fritz; Peak Performance Timing, LLC.
Continued: 2020 Event Discussion
Chair Lucarelli said the utility billing flyer is complete and will be sent out in October and November.
Ms. Fritz explained they will be hosting a virtual Jolly Jingle run this year and are starting to set up registration.
In response to Chair Lucarelli, staff Floyd noted she will update the City’s website with the virtual run
information. Additionally, due to their own pet contest, Woodside Animal Hospital will not be hosting a virtual
pet costume contest for this year’s event.
Discussion was held regarding the rock painting video, rock hiding locations, website, City liabilities, asking
volunteers if they would like to paint rocks, and a virtual Santa costume contest.
City Hall Tree
Staff Floyd noted she spoke to public works who indicated they spoke to a new tree farm about the City Hall
tree. They indicated they can cut, deliver, and set-up the tree. It is a little more money. Also, will public works
be responsible for turning the lights on the tree?
Chair Lucarelli would like to move forward with the tree farm who will cut, deliver, and set-up the tree for us,
and she would like someone to turn the lights on early on Saturday, December 5th. We will check with public
works to see if they accommodate this.
Kitsap Bank Community Connections
Staff Floyd said we received a donation of $1,000 from Kitsap Bank for this year’s event, and the City did apply
for the 2021 grant asking to help fund for light decorations around the City.
Tree Decorating Contest Update
Staff Floyd mentioned we have sold about 19 planters and a notice about the contest was sent out through the
City’s Facebook page.
Chair Lucarelli said in the past we had 3 prize winners. She asked if the grant money from Kitsap Bank can be
used to purchase prizes? Staff Floyd said she will check on that and let her know.
Discussion was held regarding prizes and how to distribute to the winners.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:00 p.m. Audio/Visual recording was
successful.
