Committee Minutes
Monday, November 2, 2020; 3:30 p.m.
Members present via remote access: Chair Lucarelli and City staff Floyd and Sergeant Main. Guests
present via remote access: Sharron King, Fathoms O’ Fun; Sandy Jennings, Soroptimist; Loretta Fritz,
Peak Performance Timing, LLC.
Continued: 2020 Event Discussion
Chair Lucarelli updated staff Sergeant Main on the event, noting there will be a virtual 5K run, but
nothing that will allow crowds to gather. We will not have a tree lighting ceremony, marching bands, or
pet contest, but we will have a large, lighted tree in front of City Hall. There will be lighted boats, but
no contest. We are encouraging more lights and we have the rocks to help spread messages of cheer.
The committee discussed the rocks, noting they can be hidden anytime in November, types of
messages, and locations to hide the rocks; website updates; lighting the big tree; and virtual 5K run and
promotion.
Downtown Tree Decorating Contest Update
In response to Chair Lucarelli, staff Floyd mentioned there are about 23 planters available.
Chair Lucarelli noted she has been making a lot of calls and is hoping they can all get sponsored. She
would also like a list of all the 2019 sponsors so she can reach out to them. She heard there may be a
damaged planter and will be looking into that.
Discussion was held regarding tree signs; lights; decorating; and prizes.
Pictures of Neighborhood Lights
In response to staff Floyd, Chair Lucarelli said we will be moving forward with people sending their
information to the City for posting to the website.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 3:57 p.m. Audio/Visual
recording was successful.
Future Meeting:
November 16, 2020, 3:30pm via Zoom.
