A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
SUPPORTING THE SOUTH KITSAP SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOOL
CONSTRUCTION BOND
WHEREAS, the South Kitsap School District will place a school construction Bond before
voters as a ballot issue on February 9, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the proposed bond will provide funding for the construction of a 220,000
square foot, four-year high school and provide funding for technology and safety upgrades at
the existing South Kitsap High School; and
WHEREAS, all of the above direct and indirect results of the South Kitsap School District
Bond will enhance educational opportunities for the children of South Kitsap County residents,
and thereby improving the quality of life in South Kitsap; and
WHEREAS, each generation should invest in its own and its children's future by building
on physical and social improvements made by prior generations, now, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City of Port Orchard supports the South Kitsap School District Bond
and urges to Kitsap County voters to approve the ballot measure on February 9,
2016.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested by
the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 12th day of January, 2016.
