Special Meeting of January 26, 2016
1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Mayor Pro-Tem Clauson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll call was taken by the City Clerk as follows:

2. Discussion on Council Committees

Mayor Pro-Tem Clauson discussed council committee structures in the past, and opened the floor
for discussion on what the possibilities could be for the next two years.
Discussion highlights:
• Trying to make sure a Finance Committee member is also on Utilities, Public Properties, and
Economic Development/Tourism in order to relay information between committees as it
relates to the budget.
• History and function of each committee.
• Putting transportation funding under the Finance Committee.
• Changing the name of Public Properties to Land Use, adding the comp plan to this
committee, and retaining all other previous aspects of Public Properties, such as streets,
parks, parking, etc.
• Topics for committee discussion — downtown parking, public outreach (administrative
function)
• Councilmembers provided their preferences of which committee they wanted to serve on.
Finance Committee went vote by ballot. Voting results: Ashby, 7; Clauson, 6; Cucciardi, 5;
Lucarelli, 3.
