Regarding the Downtown Overlay District
November 6, 2006
ALSO PRESENT: Planning Director Long-Woods, Interim City Clerk Merlino and
Assistant City Attorney .Jacoby.
Mayor Abel opened meeting at 7:00 p.m. and resumed discussion of the Downtown
Overlay District.
Jessie .Palmer from the Kitsap County Housing Authority illustrated views of what the
downtown core area could look like with the proposed height restrictions.
Council Member Clauson suggested building heights be measured from the uphill side of
the building.
Council Member Dilenno proposed a handheld GPS determine height limitations with
property owners retaining at least 30% of their view.
Mayor Abel advised she will provide examples of elevation reference lines, by using her
handheld GPS.
This portion of the meeting concluded at 8:55 p.m. and is continued to November 16,
2006, at 7:00 p.m.
