Regarding the Downtown Overlay District
November 16, 2006
ALSO PRESENT: Public Works Director Abed, Planning Director Long-Woods, Interim
City Clerk Merlino and Assistant City Attorney Jacoby.
Mayor Abel opened meeting at 7:00 p.m. and resumed discussion of the Downtown
Overlay District.
Mayor Abel illustrated through a power point presentation photos taken at different
height elevations demonstrating what potential views could be impacted.
Council started discussion on parking requirements for residential and commercial units
within the central downtown core area.
Council asked Assistant City Attorney Jacoby to prepare a matrix illustrating what the
current parking regulations allow regarding residential and commercial units vs. what
the proposed parking regulations will permit, along with comparisons from other cities.
This portion of the meeting concluded at 9:30 p.m. and is continued to November 28,
2006, at 7:00 p.m.
