ICE ATTEMPTED IMMIGRATION WARRANT SERVICE
On August 15, 2026, at 12:33 PM, Port Orchard Police Department (POPD) officers were dispatched to a
business at SW Sedgwick Rd and Sidney Rd SW. A customer at the location called 911 to report that ICE
agents were present and attempting to take a subject into custody. Agents reportedly entered the location,
walked behind the counter, and attempted to apprehend the subject. The wanted subject fled the area on
foot, with ICE agents in foot pursuit. The agents wore tactical attire with “Federal Officer Fugitive
Detention Police” emblazoned on their uniforms and were in an unmarked black SUV with emergency
lights.
POPD units arrived and verified the agents' credentials and purpose. Officers were informed that the subject
was wanted on an immigration warrant and did not pose an immediate threat to the public. After confirming
this information and that no one had sustained any injuries, POPD officers cleared the scene.
POPD was not notified before ICE attempted to serve the immigration warrant, and no POPD personnel
assisted with the operation before or after notification. Under the Keep Washington Working Act (KWW),
local law enforcement agencies are prohibited from enforcing federal immigration laws.
At the time this press release was authored, it is unknown if the subject has been apprehended.
