JUVENILE ESCAPEE
On August 18, 2026, at 1:34 PM, the Port Orchard Police Department (POPD) was notified of a reported
escape from the Kitsap County Juvenile Detention facility at 1338 SW Old Clifton Rd in Port Orchard.
The juvenile fled on foot, and officers conducted an extensive search with assistance from the Kitsap
County Sheriff's Office, the Washington State Patrol, the Bremerton Police Department, and the Kitsap
County Probation Office. After approximately 40 minutes, the escaped juvenile was apprehended a short
distance away and taken into custody.
At this time, there are no outstanding persons and no danger to the public.
