A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
REGARDING THE CITY COUNCIL'S RULES FOR MAKING
COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS
WHEREAS the City of Port Orchard is governed by an elected Mayor and seven City
Council members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council established certain select committees to investigate and
recommend policy to the full Council; and
WHEREAS, the Council formerly updated committees by Ordinance as codified at
Section 2.04.240 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code, and repealed by Ordinance No. 004-06; and
WHEREAS, the Council now desires to update committees and amend the rules
governing the assignment of Council members to select committees by Resolution; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The following Council Committees are:
County/City Liaison
Finance
Growth Management
Hotel/Motel Tax
Chimes & Lights
Public Property
Public Safety
Street/ Alley
Utilities
Economic Development
AND FURTHER THAT: At a regular Council meeting in January of each even
numbered year, the City Council shall establish the responsibilities of each committee, and the
committee membership.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 21 day of February 2006.
