A RESOLUTION OF THE CTIY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
RECASSIFYING THE EMPLOYMENT POSffiON OF GENERAL
CLERICAL-SECRETARIAL TO OFFICE ASSISTANT I AND CLERICAL-
SECRETARIAL SENIOR LEVEL TO OFFICE ASSISTANT II AND
ELIMINATING THE CLASSIFICATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE
SECRETARY 2 AND ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY 1.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to periodically review the duties and responsibilities
of all employment positions; and
WHEREAS, a salary survey was completed by NW Management Consulting, Inc. for all
non-represented positions and based upon the current job duties and level of responsibility it is
determined that it is appropriate to reclassify the employment positions of General Clerical-Secretarial to
Office Assistant I and Clerical-Secretarial Senior Level to Office Assistant II and eliminate the classification
of Administrative Secretary 2 and Administrative Secretary 1; and
WHEREAS, the current job descriptions and salary step schedule as approved during the
2007 salary survey shall remain in effect, this reclassification have been reviewed by the City Council
Finance/Personnel Committee and are respectfully submitted with a recommendation for approval; now,
therefore,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE THAT:
Effective upon signature of this Resolution, the employment classification of General
Clerical-Secretarial/ Administrative Secretary 1 is hereby reclassified as Office Assistant I.
Effective upon signature of this Resolution the employment position of Clerical/Secretarial
Senior Level/Administrative Secretary 2 is hereby reclassified to Office Assistance II.
Effective upon signature of this Resolution, the employment position of General Clerical-
Secretarial/ Administrative Secretary 1 and Clerical/Secretarial Senior Level/ Administrative Secretary 2 are
hereby eliminated from the Salary Step Schedule
The Salary Step Schedule as established for the positions of General Clerical-
Secretarial/ Administrative Secretary 1 and Clerical/Secretarial Senior Level/ Administrative Secretary 2 as
set forth within Resolution No. 025-07, shall remain in effect and be reclassified as Office Assistant 1 and
Office Assistant II.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 26h day of February 2008.
