RESOLUTION NO. 084-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR CRIME
PREVENTION, COMMUNITY POLICING AND
PATROL FUNCTIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard Police Department applied for a grant
through the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for the
purpose of obtaining funding to make improvements to the department's crime
prevention, community policing and patrol operations; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Police Department was notified on August
11, 2009, of the grant award for $47,554 to be used towards specific programs and
equipment enhancing department operations, and
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City of Port Orchard accepts the grant award of
$47,554 from the US Department of Justice, Bureau of
Justice Assistance, to be used for the purchase of equipment
and personnel costs in accordance with grant rules to
enhance the department's crime prevention, community
policing, and patrol operations, and further authorizes the
Mayor to execute the grant agreement.
