A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
ACCEPTING THE BID FOR A HYBRID POLICE VEHICLE
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard Police Department applied for a grant through
the United States Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance for the purpose of
obtaining funding to purchase a hybrid police vehicle, backfill of five hours per week for the
Court Security Officer, police bicycles, and computers and equipment for a southwest
substation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Police Department was notified on August 11,
2009, of the grant award for $47,554 to be used towards specific programs and equipment
enhancing department operations; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard sought bids for a hybrid police vehicle on
September 4, 2009, and bids were opened on September 16, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the City received one qualified bid from Heartland Toyota of Bremerton
for a 2010 Toyota Hybrid police vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the City Police Department finds the bid amount to be within the funding
allocations of the Byrne Justice Grant No. 2009-SB-B9-2220; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City of Port Orchard accepts the hybrid police vehicle bid as
submitted by Heartland Toyota of Bremerton in an amount not to exceed
$39,000, which includes all sales tax, licensing, and recording fe es, with funds
from the Byrne Local Recovery Grant No. 2009-SB-B9-2220.
