A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HONORING LARY COPPOLA FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD
WHEREAS, Lary Coppola, a long-time resident of the Pmt Orchard community,
has been actively involved in local government for the past four years; and
WHEREAS, Lary Coppola was elected as the Mayor of Port Orchard on
November 7, 2007, and provided diligent public service until December 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Coppola has consistently demonstrated dedication and
devotion to the citizens of Port Orchard through his strong leadership as the Mayor v.':ith
various federal, state, and local officials; and now, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: Mayor Coppola has earned the admiration and respect of his
community for his selfless endeavors in the past four years as Mayor.
Particularly noteworthy were his outstanding contributions in the
follomng significant City accomplishments:
• The annexations of McCormick Woods and the Bethel Corridor;
• The disengagement from the Revenue Sharing Interlocal
Agreement mth Kitsap County;
o The enhancement mth FEMA federal staff to ensure Pmt
Orchard flood area regulations were compliant;
• The first Electronic Vehicle (EV) Charging Station in Port
Orchard and on the Kitsap Peninsula;
• The establishment of a new employer, NW Yachts, to the City;
o The completion of the Bay Street Seawall project;
o The improvement to the permit process at the City;
• The repair of the City's Boat Ramp through an agreement with
the Port of Bremetton;
• The designation as a Well City through the Association of
Washington Cities (AWC);
o The creation of the stormwater utility;

• The completion and updating of the Comprehensive Plan, Parks
Plan, Stormwater Plan, Shoreline Master Plan, and Water and
Sewer System Plans; and
• The commencement of the Bay Street Pedestrian Pathway.
Through his leadership and work with the Port Orchard City Council, state, federal,
and local agencies, Mayor Coppola was also instmmental in maintaining a debt free status
for the City of P01t Orchard.
