RESOLUTION NO. 014-12
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 1779 BY
CHANGING THE POLICY REGARDING UTILITY OVER AND
UNDER PAYMENTS OF TEN DOLLARS ($1o.oo) OR LESS.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard operates Water Sewer and Storm Drainage
utilities that bill customers on a bimonthly bases that from time to time receives
overpayments and underpayments often dollars ($1o.oo) or less; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard processes closing bills, adjusts clerical
errors, issues refunds, and bills additional charges; and
WHEREAS, the cost of processing de minimis additional charges and issuing
refund checks exceeds the face value; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: Resolution No. 1779, enacted July 14, 1997, is repealed in its
entirety; and
THAT: the policy of the City of Port Orchard's utilities is to not issue
refund amounts or rebill amounts of ten dollars ($to.oo) or less unless
specifically requested within 6o days by the utility customer.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 12th day of June 2012.
