AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON ADOPTING THE FINAL BUDGET FOR THE
YEAR 2009
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on revenue sources on October
28, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary budget for the calendar year 2009 was submitted to
the City Council on October 28, 2008; and
WHEREAS, a Notice of Budget Hearing was published on November 1 and
November 8, 2008 in the Port Orchard Independent newspaper stating the 2009 preliminary
budget was on file and could be obtained from the City Treasurer, and inviting the public to
attend and/or comment at the public hearing to be held December 1, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the Council Finance Committee met four times between October 29
and November 12, 2008 to discuss the preliminary budget and to make final recommendations to
the Council; and
WHEREAS, City Council held a study session on the 2009 preliminary budget, on
November 25, 2008 and considered the Council Finance Committee's recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on December 1, 2008 regarding
the preliminary budget for calendar year 2009; and
WHEREAS, a copy of the 2009 preliminary budget was on file with the City Clerk
for examination by the public during the time it was considered by the City Council; now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I.. The budget of the City of Port Orchard for the year 2009, is hereby
adopted in its entirety as the final annual budget of the City of Port Orchard for calendar year 2009
as set forth below:
