AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON ADOPTING THE FINAL BUDGET FOR
THE YEAR 2008
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on revenue sources on October
22, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary budget for the calendar year 2008 was submitted to
the City Council on October 22, 2007; and
WHEREAS, a Notice of Budget Hearing was published on November 7 and
November 14, 2007 in the Port Orchard Independent newspaper stating the 2008 preliminary
budget was on file and could be obtained from the City Treasurer, and inviting the public to
attend and/or comment at the public hearing to be held December 3, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Council Finance Committee met four times between October 24
and November 16, 2007 to discuss the preliminary budget and to make final recommendations to
the Council; and
WHEREAS, City Council held a study session on the 2008 preliminary budget, on
November 26, 2007 and considered the Council Finance Committee's recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on December 3, 2007 regarding
the preliminary budget for calendar year 2008; and
WHEREAS, a copy of the 2008 preliminary budget was on file with the City Clerk
for examination by the public during the time it was considered by the City Council; now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the budget of the City of Port Orchard for the year 2008, is
hereby adopted in its entirety as the final annual budget of the City of Port Orchard for calendar
year 2008 as set forth below:
