The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular
Council meeting held May 8, 2006.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON AMENDING THE
BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2006 AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 025-05 TO
RECOGNIZE CHANGES TO CERTAIN REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES NOT
ANTICIPATED AT THE TIME OF PASSAGE OF THE 2006 BUDGET

Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any
interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 010-06 will be
provided at a nominal charge.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2006 AS ADOPTED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 025-05 TO RECOGNIZE CHANGES TO CERTAIN
REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES NOT ANTICIPATED AT THE TIME
OF PASSAGE OF THE 2006 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard adopted its 2006 Budget in Ordinance No.
WHEREAS, the City desires to keep current on budget amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council committed in the 2005 and 2006 budget for the
drilling of Well No. 10 to be funded by transferring monies from the Water -Sewer Cumulative
Reserve Fund to the Water -Sewer Operating Fund; and
WHEREAS, at the October 24, 2005 meeting the City Council awarded the bid for
drilling of Well No. 10 for $203,614.14; and
WHEREAS, at the April 10, 2006 meeting the City Council authorized Change
Order #1 to complete Well No. 10 drilling for a total amount not to exceed $151,520.00, it is
necessary to make adjustments to accounts and/or funds by means of appropriation adjustments
that could not have been anticipated at the time of passage of the 2006 Budget, as provided for in
RCW 35.33.091; and
WHEREAS, the source of revenue for the additional appropriation will come from
the Water -Sewer Cumulative Reserve Fund to the Water -Sewer Operating Fund; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the 2006 Budget be amended to reflect the following:
(a) The appropriation for the drilling of Well No. 10 from the Water -Sewer
Cumulative Reserve Fund: $300,000.00.
(b) The transfer of revenue in the Water -Sewer Cumulative Reserve Fund to
the Water -Sewer Operating Fund: $300,000.00.
(c) The appropriation to pay for the costs of drilling Well No. 10 from the
Water -Sewer Operating Fund: $300,000.00
Section 2. There will be no further obligations approved for Well No. 10 until
reviewed by the City Council.

Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after
posting and publication as required by law. A summary of this ordinance may be published in lieu
of the entire ordinance, as authorized by State law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard and signed by the Mayor
and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 8th day of May, 2006.
