03/12/1998 - Special - MinutesPort Orchard, Washington March 12, 1998 Acting Mayor Pro-tem Robert Geiger called the Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, to order in special session at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall, 216 Prospect Street. Council members present: Clauson, Wyatt, Geiger, Van Zee, and Stansbery. Staff present: City Planner Gross, City Engineer Curies and Deputy Clerk Merlino. Acting Mayor Pro-tem Geiger reopened the Draft Zoning Ordinance Public Hearing which was continued from March 11, 1998. The purpose of holding a series of continued meetings that constitute one public hearing is to allow a detailed and thorough review and discussion on the Draft Zoning Ordinance. Public input is invited and encouraged during discussions on the Draft Zoning Ordinance. City Planner Gross confirmed the meeting dates for the next Draft Zoning Ordinance as follows: Saturday, March 14, 1998 Wednesday, March 18, 1998 City Planner Gross started discussed with the Landscape design requirement chart on page 194-A. Council expressed a concern with the landscape design becoming too restrictive and made the following addition to Section 12 on page 200 as follows: (g) Creative designs using groupings of trees maybe utilized.
