Acting Mayor Pro-tem Geiger called the Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, to
order in special session at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall, 216 Prospect Street.
Council members present: Clauson, Wyatt, Geiger, Van Zee and Stansbery.
Staff present: City Planner Gross and City Clerk Parks.
Acting Mayor Pro tem Geiger reopened the Draft Zoning Ordinance Public Hearing which was
continued from March 24, 1998. The purpose of holding a series of continued meetings that
constitute one public hearing is to allow a detailed and thorough review and discussion on the
Draft Zoning Ordinance. Public input is invited and encouraged during discussions on the Draft
Zoning Ordinance.
City Planner Gross confirmed review of the Draft Zoning Ordinance is nearing completion. Two
tables and the Comprehensive Plan Map are remaining to complete the review. Council
members agreed that in addition to the scheduled continuation April 9, 1998 (7:30 PM) they
would set April 21, 1998 (and April 22, if needed) as the date to review the map
City Planner Gross started discussion by clarifying question from previous meeting that the city
does have minimum width requirements for mobile homes of 20 feet.

After much discussion on appropriate spacing for trees, Councilmembers directed staff
to set standard based upon the trees in waterfront parking lot #4 (between the Port of
Bremerton Gazebo Park and Harrison Avenue)

City Planner Gross noted that this ended review of Section D4 and directed attention to the
table in Section D1 establishing Densities and dimensions (page 164-A)
Revise note 12 to read — 12. All lot sizes are measured in square feet, unless a PUD has
been approved by the City Council.
