Acting Mayor Pro-tem Geiger called the Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, to
order in special session at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall, 216 Prospect Street.
Council members present: Clauson, Wyatt, Geiger, and Stansbery.
Staff present: City Planner Gross and City Clerk Parks.
Acting Mayor Pro-tem Geiger reopened the Draft Zoning Ordinance Public Hearing which was
continued from April 8, 1998. The purpose of holding a series of continued meetings that
constitute one public hearing is to allow a detailed and thorough review and discussion on the
Draft Zoning Ordinance. Public input is invited and encouraged during discussions on the Draft
Zoning Ordinance.
City Planner Gross focused discussion on the table in Section D1 establishing Densities and
dimensions (page 164-A)
Councilmembers discussion focused on minimum lot sizes; densities; road, street and sidewalk
standards.
Mayor Weatherill joined Council in session and Acting Mayor Pro-tem Geiger relinquished chair
to the Mayor.
After lengthy discussion on requirements for densities and dimensions, Council by general
concensus agrees to add an additional footnote to the Residential land uses table (Page 146-C)
which states: 5: PUD review is required. (This footnote #5 is added to all permitted dwelling
unit developments in the R12 and R20 zones.)
At approximately 9.15 P.M. Mayor Weatherill declared the Public Hearing continued to Thursday
April 16, 1998 at 7:30 PM.
