AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON AMENDING PORT ORCHARD ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 1748 TO PERMIT RELIGIOUS
ORGANIZATIONS AS AN ALLOWED USE IN THE
DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD.
COMMERCIAL-RETAIL AND OFFICE, AND MIXED USE
WHEREAS, the City Zoning Ordinance currently does not allow religious
organizations as defined in SIC 866, such as churches, synagogues and temples, from locating
within the Commercial-Retail and Office, and Mixed Use Districts; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the city to allow SIC 866 as permitted uses in the
Commercial-Retail and Office, and Mixed Use Districts, now, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 1748, Part 83 General Services Land Uses Table
is hereby amended as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and by reference incorporated herein.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after
posting and publication as required by law. A summary of this Ordinance may be published in lieu
of the entire Ordinance, as authorized by State law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, signed by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 9th day Wecember 2002.
