The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular
Council meeting held August 26, 2002.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
REPEALING OUTDATED ORDINANCES REGARDING THE
PORT ORCAHRD MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 2.70.
BREMERTON-KITSAP COUNTY HEALTH DISTRICT AND REPEALING
Copies of Ordinance No. 1867 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port
Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any
interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1867 will be
provided at a nominal charge.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, REPEALING OUTDATED ORDINANCES
REGARDING THE BREMERTON-KITSAP COUNTY HEALTH ~-
DISTRICT AND REPEALING PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL
CODE CHAPTER 2 70
WHEREAS, the Bremerton-Kitsap County Health District is created as a separate legal entity
pursuant to state statutes; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton-Kitsap County Health District is required to provide to the
residents of the City of Port Orchard, at no cost, the health services offered to all other County residents; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 1660, as codified in Chapter270 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code
is outdated and no longer necessarydue to the current status of state law; and
WHEREAS, the City can continue to provide funding to the Bremerton-Kitsap County Health
District when the Bremerton-Kitsap County Health District provides services to the residents of the City of Port
Orchard that go beyond the services provided other citizens within the County; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton-Kitsap County Health District is currently maintaining a satellite
office within the City limits, additional funding can be paid to the District without the need for a codified
ordinance; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
SECTION 2.
Chapter 2.70 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code is hereby repealed.
If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this
Ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after posting and
publication as required by law. A summary of this Ordinance may be published in lieu ofthe entire Ordinance, as
authorized by State law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 26th day of August 2002.
