02/03/1997 - Work Study - MinutesPort Orchard, Washington February 3, 1997 Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, called to order for a Study Session by Mayor Protem Powers at 7:30 PM at City Hall, 216 Prospect Street. Council members present: Clauson, Wyatt, Geiger, Van Zee Powers and Grable. Staff present: City Engineer Curles, City Planner Gross and Deputy Clerk Hager. Protem Mayor Powers stated the purpose of this Study Session is for discussion and review of the proposed City of Port Orchard Zoning Ordinance. The Council concurred with the City Planner and set the following dates and times for future special study session to discuss the proposed Port Orchard Zoning Ordinance. OO Wednesday, February 19, 1997 at 7:30 PM © Wednesday, March 12, 1997 at 7:30 PM Os Wednesday, March 26, 1997 at 7:30 PM At this time Mayor Protem Powers, turned the meeting over to City Planner Gross for continued discussion. City Planner Gross started with discussion on chapter Cl: Zones, maps and designations. Planner Gross discussed each specific zone and gave a general overview of the zoning code uses. After Chapter Cl: Zones, maps and designations, Planner Gross continued discussion to Chapter C3: Permitted, conditional, special use tables and further explained the purpose of the Standard Industrial Classification codes utilized in the zoning ordinance. Councilman Geiger questioned the allowance for agricultural crops sales, i.e, wholesale nurseries. City Planner Gross stated she would review this classification and report back at the next study session her findings. Council discussed in great detail the interpretation of the Resource Land Use table. In response to a citizen request, Council agreed to delay discussion regarding marinas and other associated boat uses until Councilman Morrison is in attendance. At this time, City Planner Gross thanked everyone for coming to this meeting and advised the next special study session is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 1997. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
