05/05/1997 - Special - MinutesPort Orchard, Washington May 5, 1997 Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, was called to order in Special Session by Mayor Leslie J. Weatherill at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall, 216 Prospect Street. Councilmembers present: Clauson, Wyatt, Geiger, Van Zee, and Grable. Staff present: City Planner Gross, City Engineer Curles, and Deputy Clerk Merlino. Mayor Weatherill reopened the Draft Zoning Ordinance Public Hearing which was continued from April 30, 1997. The purpose of holding a series of Public Hearing meetings is to review and discuss the draft Zoning Ordinance. Public input is invited and encouraged during discussions on the draft Zoning Ordinance. City Planner Gross presented a handout depicting the definition of "Public Facilities" and upon her recommendation Council concurred with changing the zoning designation from Public Facilities to Community Facilities. Dick Brown, real estate agent, distributed to the Council a listing of 8 members of a Technical Advisory Review Committee who would like an opportunity to review the proposed zoning ordinance. Council recommended the committee review the document concurrently with the Council and present comments and/or suggestions for council consideration. At this time Council continued discussion and review on page 146-E "Government/business services land uses" table.
