The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular
Council meeting held October 14, 2002.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 2.060.040 OF THE PORT ORCHARD
MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDING TRAVEL COMPENSATION FOR CITY
COUNCIL MEMBERS.
Copies of Ordinance No. 1873 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port
Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any
interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1873 will be
provided at a nominal charge.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 2.60.040 OF THE PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL
CODE AMENDING TRAVEL COMPENSATION FOR CITY COUNCIL
MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1524 on October 14, 1991 thereby
establishing a rate of compensation for City Council members; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined reimbursement for Council Members travel
expenses shall follow the same guidelines as those adopted in the City of Port Orchard
ReimbursemenUAdvance of Business Expense Policy No. 100-14, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2.60.040 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code is amended to read
as follows:
2.60.040 Other ComDensation.
(4) Reimbursement for meals shall be allowed if the mutually agreed time of
meeting is during a meal time.
Reimbursement for mileage shall be made if the meeting is outside the city
limits. This would also apply to attendance at an approved convention or
investigative trip.
Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or
phrase of this Ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.

SECTION 2.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days
after posting and publication as required by law. A summary of this Ordinance may be published in lieu of the
entire Ordinance, as authorized by State law.
