Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, called to order for a Study Session by
Mayor Leslie Weatherill at 7:30 PM at City Hall, 216 Prospect Street.
Council members present: Clauson, Wyatt, Morrison, Geiger, Powers, Van Zee.and Grable.
Staff present: City Engineer Curles, City Planner Gross and City Clerk Parks.
Mayor Weatherill stated that the purpose of this Study Session is to review and discuss the
draft Sign Ordinance.
At the request of Mayor Weatheril1, Councilman Geiger facilitated the draft Sign Ordinance
review by reading the ordinance and leading discussion. Items discussed which resulted in
language revision were as follows (spelling, punctuation and formatting corrections were
noted, but are not itemized in these minutes:

At approximately 9:45 PM Council concurred that additional study sessions will be needed
to complete the draft sign ordinance review.
Council requested staff to incorporate noted revisions, review and standardize heights in
residential districts using six (6) foot rule; exempt government, schools.
